The nicest thing I have never wake up to
This morning a normal walk was a lot more enjoyable due to the extra energy I woke up with. Pouncing down the main road a 4W drive that was heading the opposite direction made U-turn. The drive smiled haply , for a second I did not recognize her. There she was my friend of twenty years.
Twenty years ago I met a girl from Ethiopia and became friends. In those days we were very few Africans in New Zealand, you would be luck to meet one often. We never really keep in touch but always have a lot to share when we meet. In the last thirteen years, had probably bumped into each other five times
Jump in" she said. I directed her towards the direction I was coming from, "My house is at the back there" I added. Back at my place we shared a coffee while we recall that, back then, we had discussed about how coffee should be taken to stay in shape. A whole lot of what we have been up to shared. My friend works with health department and organizations that empowers others. Women's health dominated our catching up. Something I had been longing for, To talk to someone who share the same goals and being humbled about it all.
As I walked her down the drive way, she cheerfully rubbed my tummy. " Look!! you don't even have a tummy, when I met you, you had always told me to look after myself. You still the same person Sophie Look at you!!"
The nicest and sincerely thing I have never wake up to
After she had left I thought, "What an amazing world" as I recall how long I had known her and what a beautiful and humbled soul she is. what a pleasant morning, I felt
